Toothache
What does this mean?
If you have a toothache you feel pain around a tooth. This can be nagging or severe pain depending on the reason for the toothache. Usually toothache is a signal for a visit to the dentist. A dental check up can clarify the reason for your toothache. The root of your toothache might be found in one of these causes:
- Tooth decay
- Infected gums
- Broken tooth
- A damaged filling
- Abscessed tooth
When leaving toothache untreated
If the reason for the toothache isn’t dealt with treatment the problem will increase. The pain might reduce over time but the problem doesn’t disappear. This will certainly end up in more intense treatments. For example:
- Root canal
- Periodontitis
- Dental implants
